Effective Date: 03/14/2026
VerifyCart is operated by MindMatter, LLC
VerifyCart is a local-first grocery cart and running-total app. This Privacy Policy explains how VerifyCart handles information when you use the app.
1. Summary
VerifyCart is designed to be privacy-focused.
- No accounts are required.
- We do not operate a backend for VerifyCart.
- We do not collect or store your cart data on our servers.
- We do not use analytics SDKs or third-party tracking tools in the app.
- We do not use cloud sync in the app.
- Voice entry is designed to use on-device speech recognition only when available.
2. Information We Collect
We do not collect personal information from you through VerifyCart.
This means we do not collect, store, or receive:
- your cart items,
- your running totals,
- your budget amounts,
- your review flags or notes,
- your voice recordings,
- your speech transcripts,
- your account information, or
- your location.
Your cart session is intended to remain on your device unless you choose to export or share it.
3. On-Device Processing
VerifyCart processes cart information on your device.
If you use voice entry, the app is designed to require on-device speech recognition when supported by your device and language settings. VerifyCart does not send your audio to servers operated by us.
If on-device speech recognition is unavailable, voice entry is disabled and you can use manual entry instead.
4. Microphone and Speech Permissions
VerifyCart may request access to:
- your microphone, to capture audio for voice entry; and
- speech recognition, to transcribe short voice commands.
These permissions are optional. If you do not grant them, you can still use VerifyCart with manual entry.
5. Local Device Storage
VerifyCart may store limited information locally on your device to support app functionality, such as:
- onboarding completion status,
- subscription access state managed through Apple systems,
- temporary app state needed while using the app.
Cart data is designed to remain local to your device and is not automatically uploaded to us.
6. Exporting or Sharing Data
VerifyCart allows you to voluntarily copy or share a text summary of your cart.
If you choose to use copy or share features:
- the summary may be placed on your device clipboard, or
- shared with another app or service you select.
Any handling of shared data by Apple or a third-party app is governed by that party's own privacy practices, not ours.
7. Subscriptions and Apple
VerifyCart may offer a subscription through Apple's In-App Purchase system.
If you purchase a subscription:
- payment processing is handled by Apple, not by us;
- we do not receive your full payment card information; and
- Apple may provide us limited transaction status information needed to confirm whether you have an active subscription.
Your purchase is also subject to Apple's terms, privacy practices, and billing policies.
8. Third Parties
VerifyCart does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs in the app.
Apple may process certain information as part of providing platform features such as:
- App Store purchases,
- speech recognition permissions,
- device-level clipboard or sharing features.
Those platform services are governed by Apple's own terms and privacy policies.
9. Data Retention
Because we do not collect your personal data on our servers, we do not maintain a server-side database of your cart or voice information.
If you want to remove data stored in the app on your device, you can:
- clear your session inside the app,
- remove shared or copied content from destination apps where applicable, or
- delete the app from your device.
10. Your Rights and Choices
Because we do not collect or store your personal information on our servers, we generally do not have access to data to review, correct, export, or delete on your behalf.
You control your information directly on your device.
11. Children's Privacy
VerifyCart is not intended for children under 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Effective Date" above.
